Just a quick note to let you know we are back home after 2 very busy but good weeks.
We saw 1665 ambulatory patients in the villages, drawn to 2 central locations from about 24 surrounding smaller villages. The 3 dentists pulled 995 teeth in 4 days- yikes!
We made 224 referrals for surgery and other medical problems that need follow-up.
During the second week, we did 65 surgeries, among them hernia repairs, gall bladder removal, a variety of cysts in various areas, many different GYN procedures, and about 14 cleft lip and palate repairs.
We also had a very nice visit with Erick and his family, and continue to work with them to make a habitable home for them.
All in all, a good 2 weeks. We both head back to work tomorrow.
